4 out of 5 stars Nik Turner - 'Prophets Of Time' (Cleopatra).......2004-10-02

Always thought that maybe 'Prophets...' was merely another compilation disc, turns out that it's actually a mostly-original material effort, with a reworking of a couple of older Nik Turner tunes, like "Watching The Grass Grow" and "Children Of The Sun"(didn't this tune FIRST show up on Hawkwind's 'In Search Of Space'lp?).'Prophets...' seem to be more of an electronic/industrial project for Turner and the gang than the traditional space rock that we've all come to know and love. The CD is still worth hunting down a copy. The newer Turner cuts include "Strontium 90",the futuristic-like "Cybernetic Love","Bone Of Elvis" and "Fall Out".Apparently Turner allowed other players some space on this fifteen track CD.The Michael Moorcock spoken word "Armor For Everyday" is so-so,but violinist Simon House's "Lunar Sea" is a true piece of work.I believe House played that tune when his band Spiral Realms toured the states with Turner awhile back.Still fun to pull out and give a listen to every now and again.

2 out of 5 stars Grand Tunes Sad Recording.......2002-02-28

A tawdry effort, this is live (I hope) and sadly the mix is way off or badly muffled and worse, the usual ICU humour is sadly missing.
In all, save your cash for something more promising.
