"Spooky Sugar" is the second album from this Pittsburgh based neo-glam trash rock band. In dig the sounds of T. Rex, The New York Dolls and Hanoi Rocks, then you have to hear The Science Fiction Idols!

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars I.C. Glam.......2004-02-07

Here's a modern band from Pittsburgh who have benefited from a handy time warp back to the swingin' London of the early 70's. The Science Fiction Idols deliver a heapin' helping of primo glam rock, heavily inspired by the likes of T. Rex, Sweet, and Ziggy-era David Bowie. If you're into that jazz but you're also looking for some fresh new sounds, the Idols are for you. Solid glam delivered with some modern metallic crunch and even a bit of skanky sax. The band has a real knack for catchy verses and high-flying choruses, especially in the outstanding "Cats Galore," "New Man Tonight," and "Phantom Channel." Other surprise ingredients include the slammin' guitar breakdowns in "Suckers" and boogie piano in "Little Fly," which might just be a lost T. Rex song from circa 1972. Things get unexpectedly serious in "Ballad of the New Young Creeps" which has lyrics reminiscent of the classic "All the Young Dudes." These young dudes from a surprising location sure can lay down some tasty updated glam. [~doomsdayer520~]

5 out of 5 stars Rock n Roll!!.......2004-01-31

This is great sleazy, groovin' rock n roll. I can't stop listening to "New Man Tonight", "Cat's Galore", & everything else on this disc!
By it if you love early GnR & early Kiss.
