The work is one of Vini's best. There is always a sadness when listening to Durutti Column and Another Setting captures it well. Words can't describe to beauty of this album.

Wonderful album - shame about the track errors (Part Deux).......2005-10-22

Wonderful third album by Vini Reilly and company. However, the order of the music listed on the packaging of this issue does not match the actual contents of the disc. The correct titles/order for tracks 8-11 are in fact : 8. You've Heard It Before 9. Dream Of A Child 10. Second Family 11. Spent Time.

It should also be noted that in October 2005, the album Amigos Em Portugal received a full CD re-release and, while both were re-mastered from vinyl, the quality of the '05 disc is far superior to those tracks from it which were re-issued on this disc.

A moody masterpiece.......2002-06-30

First, if you haven't ever experienced the Column, do so. This album may be a bit dark to start off with, try the 1st album "Return of.." or perhaps "Guitar and other Machines". Vini Reilly's more recent outings have been a bit more experimental and uneven. I always try to describe this music to people before I play it and invariably have a hard time... kind of like good elevator music or new age music, if you want to lump it like that. This album is a true masterpiece and should be listened to in the quiet of one's home at night when in a contemplative mood. Every song is a beauty, though, don't get me wrong. I do not have this CD version but the inclusion of any tracks from the stupendous but difficult to find import- only "Amigos em Portugal" album can only help, although I do feel it may take away from the specific mood of this piece. I do wish that album was fully available on CD, there's your true winner. Good luck and enjoy. I really do rate this as one of my desert insland discs, pick it up and you'll enjoy it for the rest of your years.
