Customer Reviews:
skronky wonderland.......2007-05-04
it might only be 13 minutes, but this is definitely a full album in terms of how it sticks in your mind. every track is a winner, and the best ones are packed with a frenetic energy you'll be hard pressed to find anywhere. I've listened to this record for years, and it hasn't gotten old. my favorite tracks are "do what you pay me for", "clifton" and "francine". wonderfully inventive, catchy, complex, and abrasive. this album might be the best kept secret in rock and roll.
historical!.......2005-12-10
this cd is an awesome fastpaced intensive romp through hyperactive aggressive hipster prog-rocknroll. enough adjectives? one of the best things to ever come from orange county, CA. mix devo, polysics, and the locust with angsty frivolous indie kids and that's probably a good start to where this album goes. it really is historically significant and musically genius, unlike most other generic wanna-be-hip rocknroll crap.
feeling hyperactive? this will more than suit your needs........2003-12-21
Miracle Chosuke is quite an oddity, releasing such a thing like this. Is it an EP? No, it can't be -- it feels too much like a complete album. Is it an LP? No, it can't be -- although there's nine songs, each last only about a minute each. Well, what is it then? I think it's safe to say that "7/8 Wonders of the World" completely defies catagorization in that area.
Even so, I'm leaning more toward this being an actual LP -- it really and truly does feel like a whole album, even though it's only about thirteen or so minutes altogether.
The music itself is varied; "Gonk" is a pretty good opener with an unmatched sense of urgency; the post-punky guitars smack you in the face left and right, and when the drums kick in, you won't be able to resist either tapping your feet or dancing like a depraved monkey.
"Clap" is another highlight. It's sounds like some sort of lost spy theme. And then again, it doesn't. But one thing is for sure... well, it's really freaking catchy.
