Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars Horrible.......2006-01-15

First of all, I bought this expecting it to be a filmed interview. That was my fault. But what I didn't realize was that it is not authentic, probably made by some foreign country who knows nothing about the chili peppers, just to rip us off. (Even if I only payed $5.) The picture on the cover isn't even from a photoshoot, it looks like its from an award show or something, they're not even looking at the camera! Also, on the description on the back of the case there are so many grammitcal errors it couldnt possibly have been made, or passed by the Chili Peppers. Obviously made by an idiot. I don't even know if I'd consider this Chili Pepper's memorabilia for those reasons. So, if you are planning on wasting your good money on an unauthentic piece of crap, go ahead. But you could easily put that good money towards some real Chili Peppers stuff. I would recommend Funky Monks or Off the Map.

3 out of 5 stars about what i expected too.......2006-01-13

i love the chili peppers perhaps more than any other entity in this natural world, and not to toot my own horn or anything, but i know a hell of a lot about them, and have spent many many hours acquiring information and just getting into their music and what they're all about.

that said, i have a few little gripes about this interview. i realized in purchasing it that it was an unofficial interview not authorized by the peppers or their label and management, and therefore didn't expect much from it. the first thing that got to me was the fact that throughout the entire 54 minute interview, there was this annoying, metal riff playing in the background, obviously not the peppers, and if it was, it was no song i've ever heard before. secondly, it was flea and anthony talking the entire time, with no comments whatsoever from john or chad, and i was massively disappointed by this fact. as much as i love hearing flea and ant talk about their band, they are the two most vocal members, and i just would have liked to at least hear SOMETHING from john and chad, both two amazing artists, unbelieveably talented. and thirdly, the interview jumped around a lot. it would go from subject to subject, jumping back and forth, with no transition or introduction.

while i already knew most of what flea and anthony discussed, it was enjoyable to hear funny little side stories. but the whole experience was lessened quite a bit by the distracting background track, at least for me.

in short, if you want obscure (and some not so obscure) background info from the viewpoints of flea and anthony kiedis, then this is probably for you. for most hardcore fans such as myself, you probably already knew this stuff anyway, and i'd only buy it if, like me, you just like hearing the guys talk about their passions in life from time to time.

5 out of 5 stars just as much fun as i expected.......2005-11-02

the guys talk about everything from flea coming over from australia and having the cab driver shut the door on his head, to their fathers and their upbringing, to tours, records and fans.

if you are a fan youll enjoy having this. its a fun listen.
