Album Details

Sandy Shaw's First Foreign Language Recording Ws the German Version of "There's Always Something There to Remind Me" in Early 1965. Subsequently Many UK Single "a" and "b" Sides were Re-recorded in German and Would Be Released, Often Simultaneously, with the English Language Version. Her German Language Recordings Sold Well. It was the Local Language Recording that Connected Shaw Directly with her Audience Making her One of Theirs as Well as Being an International Superstar.

I would have to say nothing can start out a day on a fun, surreal note better than hearing "Puppet on a String" sung in German by the gal that made it famous herself, Sandie Shaw!

I have another collection of hers (The EP collection) that offers French, Itailian and some Spanish versions too; but this collection is all 100% German language and not only her hits, but some tunes popular in Germany too.

Mostly the same arrangements accompany the tunes as the English hits, but I believe Dein anderes Gesicht (You've been seeing her again) added even more twangy Hawaiian guitar for a great flavor.
