Its funny how elections affect people. Some protest, some hold celebrations, others vote. In the case of veteran punks Poster Children, they celebrate the upcoming U.S. presidential elections by releasing an EP full of political cover versions (Husker Du, XTC etc.) which comment about the current political state of the U.S.
Cover versions are always dodgy things, there are always extremes. Either they are brilliant and make you want to hear the original and see which ones better or they are so crap that you have hear the original to see how they compare.

Luckily for Poster Children, this EP falls into the former categories. In fact I would even say that the band pull these covers off so well that you'd think that they wrote them,. Of all the versions I've heard of The Clash's `Clampdown, this is by far the best one ever. In the case of the Heaven 17 song, I much prefer this one! A very enjoyable listen and if you're a Poster Children fan, a must have.
