Album Description

As a former collaborator with KMFDM over the past 20 years, Raymond Watts was still able to regularly release solo albums under the moniker Pig. "Pigmata" is his newest industrial rock accomplishment. Slick cynical lyrics are delivered with growling vocals on top of a razor and nail mattress of driving guitars, heavy synths, and aggressive beats. Sure to be in the CD players of rock, industrial, and metal fans for years to come.

Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars THE CHILD DEVIANT.......2006-12-01

Another regurgitated album via Raymond Watts (KMFDM). As always, the music is primarily guitar based industrial/nu metal, and the lyrics are-as always with Pig, vulgur, and explicit. Despite the constant lack of anything new or different...I am still a fan of the composition and vulgarity. However, I do have a major complaint with this artist,...there are never any liner notes or lyrical printouts included in the albums artwork. I like to read along with the lyrics, and Pig seems to never include that as part of the package....instead, just a bunch of blurred pictures of Raymond Watts doing nothing in Particulur. My secondary complaint, is that 'Sinsation' sill remains the best PIG album, and that was allmost a deacade ago. PIG needs to do something new....and print the damm lyrics in his CD booklits!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Pig is cleaner then Watts.......2006-08-12

Ok, i orignally picked up this albums under the Watts moniker and I can tell you the extra production on this album really helps with the clarity, the instruments sound clearer, better sereperated, not muddy and mashed together like on the orginial release through Grand Records. I'am a very big Pig fan, i have all his albums even the singles, import versions and A poke in the eye and A stroll in the pork and this is probably his 3rd best album, Wrecked being number 1 in my opinion and Number 2 being ? depends on the day. So in closing if ya already picked up Watts "Pigmartyr" and like it pick this up too, because the extra tracks are actually very good and the better production does make a big difference.

5 out of 5 stars PIG's "Pigmata" .......2006-07-08

PIG is the alter ego/band of Raymond aka Nainz Watts, founding member of the German industrial rock band, KMFDM. Fans of PIG *and* KMFDM won't be disappointed by this release: catchy guitar riffs, fat synth lines, hard drums and programming, female backup vocals- giving the album a bit of a pop edge, cynical lyrics. Another great industrial rock album from Watts, GET IT!

5 out of 5 stars 2006 IS THE YEAR OF THE PIG.......2006-06-07

2006 truly is the year of the pig. Raymond is making a comeback this year. He cut his ties with KMFDM, started his own tour, and released a remastered version of Pigmartyr with 3 new tracks. If anyone has had the utter horror of hearing Pigmartyr, this is the remedy. This cd is balls to the wall metal at times, and very mellow and dancy at others. It is perfect.

5 out of 5 stars Seedy, intense, and razor sharp.......2006-03-26

This latest album by Mr. Watts does rightful justice to my ears. With clear, semi-minimal electronics and an emphasis on hard-driven guitars, live drums, and cutting sleazy vocals, Pigmata is (seemingly) stripped down in contrast to some of his previous work. As expected you will hear echoes of his past work in a few of the tracks chopped up, reassembled, further explored and evolved.

For those who were put off by the poor production quality of Pigmartyr (I know I was), leave it to the past and give this one a try. Hearing the album as it was intended is a completely fulfilling experience and the added tracks alone are worth the cost of the CD.
