Customer Reviews:
Great Fun Party Album!!.......2000-10-29
This CD is a great amount of fun to listen to, even after all these years, since this material was recorded, it kiks A.S.S.!I knew David Peel back in the early 1970's and he is a great guy, and I ran into him on the street in front of the Bradford Hotel where the 1975 Beatles Convention was being held. I thought he was John Lennon, from across the street, and he hollered to me and when I crossed the street he told me he thought that I was John Lennon! This is a great CD of rare cuts from his Apple records/john and Yoko era...
God gave him the grass........2000-06-30
An albumn full of biting social commentary and anti-establishment humor. That this is a Czech import comes as no suprise. The copy of a copy of a cassette that I have had kicking around in my collection for years was recorded from a friend in the Czech Republic. Peel's message is one that many middle-aged Czechs who lived through pre-revolutionary suppression still identify with closely. I have searched for it on CD for quite some time now, and finally my determination has been rewarded! If you hold any 'ill feelings' towards the government, organized religion or the police, David Peel's songs, though over 20 years old, could still be your battle cry. These are great, timeless protest songs that can and should be sung outloud!
