1 out of 5 stars WORST ALBUM FEATURING GUITAR-GOD HOLDSWORTH, EVER MADE.......2006-08-09

No comment, simply a horrible album with WONDERFUL GUITAR SOLOS. For completist only.

1 out of 5 stars Disappointing.......2005-05-28

Not only is the recording quality bad but its just bad music. I bought it being a Holldsworth fan. Its definitely his worst album (and I have heard them all).

5 out of 5 stars a progressive melting pot with hip hop back beats..........2005-03-19

this release takes you on a whimsical and curious musical journey, which finds allan holdsworth unleashing both in a neo-classical suite on piccolo guitar--blowing like coltrane over tuvan throat singers... hoard laying down lush textures with keyboards and chapman stick... Holdsworth wails over a bluesy, infectuous electronic shuffle which morphs into some UK-esque changes and a ferocious solo--all framed by an underground LA rapper, DJ 4Zone... what comes out of the mix may offend your purist prog sensibilities... and lose you in low-tech home-studio jamz... but like the best modern music it challenges boundaries and only a few tracks fail to transport you to neverland. Several tracks feature some of Holdworth's most impressive playing ever--over compositions crafted to highlight his genius...

3 out of 5 stars Not much soul........2005-02-27

I love Allan Holdsworth music, in fact he is my all time favorite musician but this one didn't quite speak to me. Perhaps the extensive use of electronics without enough human feel is the reason. It sounds too mechanical and the instruments don't blend in or flow together. There is this tech intensive guitar playing on one side and the really ugly, synthetic, drum machine cymbal and snare sounds on the other. Allan's guitar normally has this magnificent bow like quality which completely blends in with other instruments, and sounds so natural and organic. But this time it sounds forced. The recording is a bit tiring as well. It is not very clean. Oh well, didn't happen this time, I guess I shouldn't expect a miracle every single time!
