Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars BARGAINBASEMENT SPRINSTEEN.......2007-03-02

I bought this on the strength of the glowing reviews. Well, I want my money back!!!!! This is like a WORST OFF from a sad STONES / SPRINGSTEEN cover band. Production is horrid, songs are horrid and lack even an ounce of originality. His guitar playing does not deserve a mention, so I won't mention it. One cliche after another and the best track is the old "DOWN THE ROAD APIECE" chestnut. That none of the 12 originals can even match this lame number gives you some idea. If you have more than a dozen CD's in your collection, you'll recognise just about every riff on this paltry offering. Check out NELSON NORWOOD if you need some STONES like ROCK'n ROLL with a touch of SRV and heaps of class.

4 out of 5 stars Great album.......2001-09-17

Not QUITE as great as some of the reviews have indicated - the sound quality is not the best - but still pretty good. Gets better as it goes along - the best tracks are near the end.

5 out of 5 stars Pure Rock.......2001-09-06

I was in Madrid about two years ago , in a bar called Chesterfield Cafe and a bunch of guys came to the stage and began to play , they were Joe Grushecky and the houserockers , i never heard about them before that gig , and i blame on me cause it was one of the best concerts i've ever been , next days i buyed the down the road apiece - live and it became one of my favourite records , i'm just waiting for another spanish tour to see them alive again , if you like pure rock you must have a record from this men , they are just great.

5 out of 5 stars As Good As It Gets.......2000-08-24

In a true and just world, Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers would be be major stars in the rock n roll universe, selling millions of records and playing to sold out stadiums. Instead, they play small venues, release critically acclaimed records to little or no fanfare, and walk down any street in America completely unnoticed. All they do is make great rock music.

This live CD is a complete package- Grushecky's mature songwriting, great music, tight arrangements, an appearance by Bruce Springsteen, and an audience that appreciates the Houserockers and pushes their performance to even greater heights.

Highlights include "Dance With Me", "Everything's Going to Work Out Right", and two old Iron City Houserocker classics, "Blood On The Bricks" and "Pumping Iron". But every song contributes to the performance. There's no filler on this disc; in fact, the only complaint I have is that they didn't include enough songs to make it a two disc CD.

Grushecky says on one track, "Everything's gonna work out right. You just got to keep the faith." Keep preaching the rock n roll faith, Joe. I'm a believer.
