Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Gregg Rolie--ROOTS.......2007-01-05

This CD takes you back to the late 60's or early 70's. The title is just what it says ROOTS. The songs and the band is just so tight.

5 out of 5 stars ONE OF GREGG'S BEST.......2006-05-13

THIS ALBUM ROCKS!! ROLLIE GETS BACK TO HIS ROCKIN' ROOTS WITH THIS 2001 CD. THE MUSIC SOUNDS LIKE A MIX OF VINTAGE SANTANA AND JOURNEY STYLE ROCK. DAVE AMATO AND NEIL SCHON DO SOME SOLID GUITAR PLAYING ON THIS CD. GREGG'S VOCALS SOUND GOOD FROM START TO FINISH. A STRONG MUSICAL PERFORMANCE! I LOVE IT!

5 out of 5 stars A VERY UNDERRATED MUSICIAN.......2006-01-04

I think Gregg Rolie is a fantastic song writer and musician.
From Santana to Journey this guy has made his mark on the music industry and continues to do so with this album. FORGET WHAT THOSE OTHER LOSERS SAY!!! This is a great album and a must for those long time Gregg Rolie fans.

5 out of 5 stars Crap has Crap on the Brain, A GREAT release.......2005-10-26

The guy that wrote that Roots is crap must have crap on the brain. Roots is a GREAT release for any artist. The guitar works is excellent with Neal playing. The songs are just a bit more mature than things Greg has done in the past. Nobody would like to see a great songwriter like Greg to repeat the music he did in the past; he is an artist and artists create. I would tell anybody who has been a fan of Greg to get the CD, just expect more unplugged guitar work than previous efforts.

5 out of 5 stars Consider what is real.......2005-07-21

When someone submits a review that slanders and demeans, you can rest assured there is a hidden agenda. They are a disgruntled minority. Their opinions are negative and are designed to demean. Move away from them the same way you do from any other nasty object that may cross your path.
Gregg Rolie contributed in a big way to our music culture. He was and is a part of the "brand name" Santana.... a co-founder. He was there and his contribution to the original band is measured by the hits. Oye Como Va, No One To Depend On, Evil Ways, Black Magic Woman.... and more.
Roots is a great album and a tribute to his tenure with Santana.
