Great Hidden Gems From Everywhere All Over!.......2006-04-04

Of course, like most people - you look at the titles of this series and you're thinking - really? Psychadelic seems a mostly American-British thing but man, after you get this CD or the series - you'll find out like me just how wrong you are. From Africa to Brazil to Asia and then back to the US & the UK, if you're a fan of every kind of music and every kind of rock 'n roll, you'll definitely want to own this disc and the set.

Unlike some other series that issue too many discs so by volume 5 or 6, they've pretty much run out of steam, this label was smart enough to confine each part of the world to one disc so they could scoop up all the interesting and forgotten tracks.

So, don't be fooled by the georgaphy or pre-conceptions. Each disc is a fun collection of obscure rock 'n roll when rock was just about getting together with some friends and making some kick-**s music!

Latin America produced a handful of great rock and roll bands, all of which are represented here with their best cuts. Anyone who loves psychedelic rock and roll as inspired by the great bands of the UK and USA will greatly appreciate these obscure groups. If you are like me, you will want to go beyond this compilation and explore further. Bands like Traffic Sound, Almendra, We All Together, Ladies WC, Kaleidoscope, Los Gatos, Los Vidrios Quebrados, Telegraph Avenue, Os Mutantes, Los Walkers, Los Macs, Los Shakers etc. all put out fine LPs that are worth hearing in their entirety--and not just for the novelty of their obscurity. South and Central American rock music is a world unto itself, and it's a blast to find each new gem.
