Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars so much better than that you-know-who retro band from NYC.......2002-01-30

I was amazed at this album when i first listened to it. sure, the beautiful 'song for nico' blatantly rips off the velvets, but it does so in such a way that it's as forgiveable as keith richards ripping off chuck berry on 'brown sugar'. 'caveman rock' is a more primal (although a little less visceral) than the stooges best stuff. this album is a perfect blend of the velvet underground and spacemen 3, and if you like either band, i would highly recommend this album, as it seems as if the warlocks are set to become the torch bearers for psychedelic noise rock and roll.

5 out of 5 stars Warlocks - Better than the Velvet Underground??.......2001-04-10

I've seen the Warlocks play in LA around 6 or 7 times and there were times when I felt "this is a seminal moment in LA rock history", much like what I imagine it was like at the Velvet Underground gigs at Max's Kansas City in New York..the only difference is they were at 3 of Clubs in Hollywood and Spaceland in Silverlake. My favorite song on the disc is "A Song for Nico".
