Great CD! Great songs! Great energy(Bonepony, please don't forget the energy of the shows that followed this album). Cowboy Song is one of my favorite live songs EVER. Buy it.

5 out of 5 stars Thank God For Bonepony!.......2002-02-06

I reached the age where the songs I used to listen to end up on compilation CDs being sold on late night television. There wasn't a lot of new music on the radio I could relate to. (And as an amatuer musician myself I probably am too critical to begin with.) I slowly discovered many other genres of music that I hadn't given much listen to before - country, traditional Irish, reggae, even (I'll deny I admitted it) new age. Still, even with some new hope, I had long since given-up attending live concerts (x-cept Mellencamp of course). That's where Bonepony comes in. I happened to see them live, and my musical soul has been smiling ever since. Not only were they all awesome musicians, but the song writing is/was for the most part top-notch. Put it this way, I haven't listened to a new CD cranked with my windows rolled down in a long time - I haven't been able to roll them up yet (and it's damn cold in Indiana right now!). It's hard to describe their music, but they jam on guitars, fiddle, mandolin, harmonica, etc... Check out their website and let them describe it for you http://www.bonepony.com. Do yourself a favor and order the CD, and catch the band LIVE as soon as possible - their vibe has to be seen/heard/felt to be believed.

Bonepony may be one of those groups that you have to see live to understand, or fully appreciate. The energy level is amazing, and they just put this huge smile on your face. I caught them the first time at the WDVX Camp Out and Jam a few miles north of Knoxville, Tennessee, a blue grass festival. Bonepony uses traditonal bluegrass instruments, except Scott Johnson, the lead, plays an assortment of percussion instruments. Like Robert Fripp said many years ago,,, I like the way it moves my toes.

And if your toes remain still, you have passed on to the other side. This is a 3 piece band that produces more music than you can imagine. I have seen them live twice. Traveler's Companion is a terrific, well produce little piece, but you may really want to hook into the website and buy the live CD direct from the boys - Funhouse.

Plug it in, and see if you can sit still. If you can, I suggest you should check your own pulse. If your friends do not respond, I suggest you get new friends.

Bonepony is bluegrass instruments played to perfection by well educated musicians schooled in rock and every other genre you may have enjoyed in the past couple of decades. These guys are a delight, and they put that huge smile on your face, and you will love the way they move your toes. And, you will dance with them, and their entourage --- the Stomp Revival.

This CD is worth five stars, but their first CD (Stomp Revival) is worth twice that many.
