Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars The Most Underrated Irish Band.......2002-02-23

I already owned "Songs from Sun Street" and "Sing a Poweful Song" before I bought this CD, so some of the songs were not new, but it was still well worth the price of the CD. The Saw Doctors fuse rock/blues/celtic/zydeco into a mix all their own and take you along for the ride. Their songs run the gamut of emotions as well from sentimental like "Green and Red of Mayo" to silly and hilarious like "Hay Wrap"...truly the most underrated Irish Band-I never miss them when they tour the U.S.

5 out of 5 stars Best Country/Western/Celtic Combo I've Heard.......1998-12-02

I came across this little gem in Galway City in July of 1996, I had heard their first CD "If this is Rock and Roll, I want my Old Job Back," and immediately fell in love with their humor and silliness, and clever music. I have listened to traditional Irish music for years and love it, and when the Saw Doctors came along, their music stradled the classic celtic music with a type of Irish Country/Western flavor that is truly intoxicating. This CD is pure fun. The final song, "Never Mind the Strangers, I'll always be your Friend" is worth the price of the entire CD. Listen to it, and you'll know what I mean.
