Customer Reviews:
Storm is the greatest ever.......2006-08-09
This album is great. Favorites here are Thank God and Beautiful. Yeah, it's expensive, but you may not be able to find this again after she becomes even bigger. Get it now.
For young and old alike!.......2003-03-19
Father of a teenage daughter, I look for edgy intelligent music from women in rock. This CD is very edgy and intelligent. My daughter is ordering copies for friends. She can't have mine, it stays in the car CD player. Punky, but not punk. It has overtones of acid rock, but isn't easy to categorize. I appreciate the variety in sound from song to song, (versus, say Bikini Kill -- very punk and edgy, but thuddingly mono-tonish) and the searing band work (versus ani di franco -- very intelligent, but hardly scream out the car window band work). Storm gots it all. Only complaint is the motif of angst is pretty constant.
Talent, intelligence AND passion.......2003-03-18
I saw Storm, Inc. in a little ski town in Colorado back about six or seven years ago. Those who failed to attend missed out on the best live show ever seen in the area.
Storm not only has a voice that rivals any singer in the past century, they lyrics on her original CD, Storm & Her Dirty Mouth, show she's intelligent, socially astute and fearless in singing about how things really are in the world. Unafraid to confront social mores and sociological concepts, her lyrics are poetry - fraught with personal emotion and drawn on personal experience. She was unafraid to draw on her own psyche - in all of it's bright and shadowed places.
I have been looking for her second CD since 2000 and am thrilled to have finally found it! Both are an absolute, unequivocable MUST. Storm is a true and original musician.
Storm "rawks".......2003-01-09
If you love rock n roll (or as Storm likes to call it "RAWK") don't EVER miss an opportunity to see Storm. I caught Storm Inc., the band on this LP while visiting SF, purely by the luck of having to find an all ages club for my 17yr old guitar playing son and I. Storm is a 6 ft tall goddess (and a very cool and classy person to boot) with twice the personality, vocal chops, range in styles and energy of any of the Jenny or Johnny come lately's on MTV2 today. The band was incredible live and are really good on this CD. Why she isn't a big star boggles the mind.
