Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A great debut album.......2005-02-23

I bought this CD after reading a glowing review of it in one of the local papers. I normally don't buy an album based on newspaper reviews, but I'm glad I did this time. I like every song on the disc and Tara MacLean sounds great even though I wish she had more solos since she's the best singer out of the three. Damhnait Doyle is also a great singer with a unique and strong voice. As for Kim Stockwood, I don't think she's incredibly talented. Her voice lacks range and she's constantly overshadowed by Tara and Damhnait. All in all, a good album!

5 out of 5 stars One of the best "pop" albums with an edge!.......2004-11-08

I didn't know what I was getting into when I bought it, with the exception of the first single "Happy Baby"...which I really liked. But I find the cd's that I buy on a whim, are always the one's that I can't put down. Basically I play this cd constantly, and this is the best "super-group" of the past year (honorable mentions to ex-gunners Slash, Matt and Duff in Velvet Revolver). The ladies sing really great edgy pop songs in a time where if you hear pop, it has to be either Celene Dion or Britney crap (no thanks). Great tune to start a cd, "On And On" just plain rocks. Then my favorite tune on the cd continues the experience, "Guenevere" highlights each vocalist's very destinctive voices in again, just a really great pop song. "Happy Baby" is probably still my second favorite song on the record, it's just one of those that gets you singing (I hope no one ever hears me sing the "...last night's clothes, no make-up" line!!!!). "Beauty" the second single, is a strong ballad, as is "How The West Was Won" later on. "Freedom" is a rocker, and "Daydream Car " provokes thoughts of speeding down a highway mid-summer with no cares in the world! "Godspeed" is the only track on the album that I have been known to skip, it just slows down the momentum when everything else is "full speed ahead"! To end, "No Mermaid" brings a surprise guest performance from the Cape Breton fiddler Natalie McMaster, and is a fitting end to the experience! The bonus cd is just that, a bonus. If you become as big a fan of this cd as I have...you will go and get the original cd's by each member (Kim Stockwood, Tara MacLean and Damhnait Doyle), I'm sure of it!!! Really!!! I'm just itchin' to see 'em live now, hopefully I'll have a better chance in Calgary!

4 out of 5 stars Beauty!.......2004-10-30

"The Bridge" is a very relaxing CD. most of the songs are good IMO, Kim and damhnait are from Newfoundland, so i`m pround to say i am too, they can really sing and i hope they stay around for a long time, Damhnait, Kim and Tara sound perfect together!
Hopefully the next album will be a little faster and up-beat. This is what i think of the songs.

1. on and on: the 2nd single, this song has the most rock feel to it but gets kinda relaxing towards the end. very good song! 10/10

2. Guenivere: This song is ok but not one of the best on the album, takes a while to get used to. 7/10

3. Beauty: the title says it all, beauty! very nice song, one of my favs. for sure. also the 3rd single. 10/10

4. When you`re sinking: Very laid back type of song. one of the best on the album, you have to listen to the lyrics. 10/10

5. Happy Baby: the 1st single, a little pop like compared to the rest, but still a good song. 9/10

6. Big, Fat Babies: the music is great in this song, but the song overall is not one of my favs. 8/10

7. Freedom: I like the energy in this song, very positive! 9.5/10

8. Daydream Car: this song is pretty good, the middle is really cool when they sings fast. but still not one of the better songs. 7.5/10

9. Karma: This is a nice slower song,a little boring though:s 6.5/10

10. How The West Was One: VERY boring! I don`t like this song much, it`s not horible but not my taste. 5/10

11. Godspeed: this song pays up for the last one, very nice song, their voice sounds beautiful. 9/10

12. No Mermaid: Another great song! excelent song to end the CD, alot of CD`s have a bad song at the end but not this one:-) 9.5/10

Best Songs IMO:
on and on
Beauty
When you`re sinking
Freedom
Godspeed
No Mermaid

keep up the good work shaye! see ya in Act 2, Goodspeed!

4 out of 5 stars Good effort, but could have been a better album.......2004-09-03

I love canadian singer songwritters i consider that in this days canadian girls are the best in this genre , however dont know why this album leftme wishing more when solo albums of this three girls got me in the past amazed and delighted , maybe they felt limitated each other this time because after all they got used in the last years to work alone and agree in many aspects on recording sessions i think can be difficult, however i enjoy some tracks such as "happy baby" and "this is how the west was won" good album not great but good
