Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Desert Island #1.......2003-12-17

I still own my original copy (yes, from 1967) of this album, worn to almost nothing but crackle and pop. Fortunately, I've managed to find several other copies over the years, some for pennies, some for premium $$$. What can I say...I've been a professional musician for almost thirty years now and this is still the one I keep returning to as What Rock And Roll Was Supposed To Be. If you haven't heard it, listen. If you don't get it then my sympathies...you probably don't get The Shaggs or NRBQ either.

5 out of 5 stars What's in a name - - Salvo Gut, for one.......2002-04-06

I bought this cd with one goal in mind--be the only one who owned it. Then I saw that other guy's review and thought, that train has passed. Then I said, "Hey, well, it's a cool name and those girls on the cover all have 'staches. I'll be the hit of my school." Big mistake. My illusions all came to an end at about the point where I tore off the cellophane wrapper and put it in the music maker. Eventually, though, when it's playing on repeated shuffle and your trapped under a heavy object for awhile, you two are bound to form a special association, and so I say buy it all of you, and your ears may someday thank you even whilst your legs betray you.
