Longtime fan.......2005-01-15
This was one of my favorite bands in college. I absolutely love them and used to see them live all the time in North Carolina. Yes this one does have more of a raw sound but that's when e: is at their greatest-especially soul fish. The guys are so down to earth and they really should be known for more than just the hooch-there's so much more to them than that song.
Can I get a little SoulFish up in here?.......2000-07-09
This album doesn't really come off as a normal album. It's more like a bootleg put up as a album. But in the case of e: that's a good thing. It shows off their natural flare to jam out on songs. Case in point, the 18 minute long jam on Soulfish, which (partly becuse of this album) has become the definitive e: live song to hear. And when they jam out..they really jam. And this gives the listener just a small taste of what it's really like to be attending an e: concert. So to all who've heard "hooch" and though it was allright. Go get this album I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
Solid introduces full range of motion for Everything.......2000-06-19
This is the band's first real recording. They chose to do the first four songs in the studio and the songs that follow are live recordings. It's a great look in to where the band really started to gel. If you like to hear how bands sounded "before they got big" then this is a great CD to have. It shows they can pull it off live. As a matter of fact, that is where the band is in their true element, which is why they must have chosen to do a live CD way back in 1998. I gave this disc three stars because of it's relevancy to their current success. The only thing that really sucks about this disc is some of the live recording is lower than desired. You get to hear a lot of bottles clanging and irrelevant bantering of the audience, but not enough to attract too much attention. *Special hippie song at end of disc is a gem*
