Album Description

From the garage rock sensibility of The Hives and the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs to the glam pop of Franz Ferdinand and the Killers, there has been no shortage of exciting new talent. The latest addition to this music club comes from Denmark in the form of Brimstone Butterfly. Culling their influences from such luminaries as Mott the Hoople and early David Bowie, Brimstone Butterfly also tips its hat to early new wave mixed with today's appealing pop-punk sound. Imagine taking all your favourite records from various time periods and mashing them together in a blender. In essence, a very lustful hodgepodge of rock and pop music styles updated for 2005. So it makes sense that they kick off their latest release "Normality Killed the Cat" with the line "Say, what happened to your lust for life?" <P>The production idea behind Normality Killed The Cat was to keep it simple and raw, while the lyric universe evolves in and around normality and the "ordinary" life. The place where curiosity, inclination to learn, love and zest for life have been replaced by materialism, boredom, narrow mindedness and even cynicism, as we zap the TV between war and sports. A soundtrack for 2005 indeed!

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Hihgest value¡¡.......2006-12-05

Just read the previous review: it's exactly as it is.
Don't miss this one. DVD-Audio sound is worst than digital 5.1, that's strange, but anyway, great music¡

5 out of 5 stars Great music for your eyes as well as your ears.......2006-01-30

This album is one of the most interesting releases in many years.
It's a 2 in 1 package deal of the highest value.

On one side you get the normal stereo CD audio, so you can listen to it in your car or anywhere else you have a CD player.

On the other side of the disc you get a 5.1 mix with videos for all songs. This was a treat for my eyes and ears.

The visual universe of Brimstone Butterfly is every bit as edgy as the music.
From the feministic car bashing Quite Simple to the anti war photo doc Don't Stop Crying, from the perverse slaughter of a snake in Gimme to the weird cartoon of male thoughts in Upon the Wall.

This is probably the funniest/strangest/most refreshing collection of music videos you will ever see.
