Customer Reviews:
Wasn't what I expected..........2005-05-14
I was expecting pretty much another pig album. That's pretty off. This isn't pig, kmfdm or even buck-tick. It's schwein, which ironically enough is german for "pig". It starts off with "You're my disease". Everything in that opening track is an indication of what's the come of the other tracks. Sakurai, on this album did a great job and listening to this makes me regret more and more the fact that I don't own a single buck-tick album. Mainly due to insane import prices. Sascha stuck mainly to programming with the occasional lead/backup vocals. Raymond was on his game with this one as he usually is. Definately worth listening to. I'd honestly try to find it through the marketplace, if possible. Fifty dollars for a single cd is robbery. I spent about 30 and i'm surely not regretting a single cent of it.
Only gripe is the "schwein remix" of "My Sanctuary". If anyone's expecting anything different and new, you might not be happy. All is pretty much is, is "My Sanctuary" (spent sperm mix) from Wrecked. Not a single change in music. It's definately the wrecked version. Only difference. Raymond's vocals sound re-recorded and also comes the addition of sakurai's vocals in the chorus. It's not an awful song. Was just expecting a brand new version with sascha especially, being a part of it. But it's a good track. Definately worth listening to along with the entire cd.
Standout tracks are "You're My Disease", "Lips, Lard, Liquor", and "Porno". If you're a kmfdm/pig fan. You'll probably be into this. You should probably check out buck-tick too to get a good idea of the other element. This is definately worth getting. But i'd try to find a cheaper price than 50.
Wierd but cool!.......2005-01-08
This type of music is quite interesting. When I first listened to it I only liked a few songs, but then the more I listened to it, the more I liked it. You can find Sascha's influence in it, but it is his remix influence, not too much like the KMFDM stuff. But if you have heard his other remixes, you'll recognize it. Would have given it five stars if it was cheaper.
four stars!.......2003-11-25
Coming from the perspective of a Buck-Tick fan, I found the tracks "Organzola," and "You're My Disease" to be excellent and worth buying the cd for. Others that shone were "Crown" and "Lard, Lips, Liquor." I'd say that if you're approaching this as a B-T fan, think of the album Six/Nine or the side project Schaft. Though the flavour isn't the same, I personally find there's an edge that's very reminiscent of those albums.
lots of fun if you're into this kind of thing.......2002-12-25
Being a big fan of both the work of Raymond Watts, and of anime/j-pop I found this album quite enjoyable.
I can see how this CD may turn off some people who are not used to hearing the Japanese language every day, but for those out there who happen to be huge fans of industrial style music and pretty much anything Japanese, this CD is really worth the money.
