Customer Reviews:
Great Danny Vaughn album, or greatest Danny Vaughn album?.......2006-08-23
You really have to hand it to the Frontiers record label. Not only are they home to the best of the best AOR/melodic rock bands, but they also set up these great "project" albums for established vocalists. They got it right with Starbreaker (featuring ex-TNT vocalist Tony Harnell), and Place Vendome (featuring ex-Helloween singer Michael Kiske), and totally struck gold with From the Inside.
From the Inside features the considerable vocal talents of former Tyketto mainman Danny Vaughn, who has one of the warmest, most powerful and most memorable voices in the genre. The Frontiers crew has crafted an excellent group of songs that make the most of Vaughn's vocal style. Naturally that means a bunch of love songs, but the album still packs plenty of punch. The music is somewhere between Journey and Pink Cream 69. It's melodic rock with a bit of a harder edge, though it's not likely to be mistaken for metal.
Overall, this is a near-flawless melodic rock album. The songs are extremely well-written, the musicianship is tight, and the vocals...well, this just may be Danny Vaughn's greatest vocal performance to date. These songs can absolutely take your breath away.
Call this one a must-have for all Danny Vaughn fans, and in fact a must-have for anyone that is into AOR/melodic rock. I honestly can't see From the Inside disappointing anyone.
Outstanding melodic rock.......2006-06-16
Danny Vaughn is once again showcasing his great vocal presence on this CD. Although having a different sort of vibe than the Tyketto or Vaughn materials, this is still well written material with memorable catchy hooks. No filler songs on this album, each one is unique and memorable in its own right, with songs 1,2,5,6,and 8 being my 5 personal favorites. My only semi-complaint is that at times Vaughn's vocals seem almost drowned out with not enough room to breathe because of the incredibly "busy" guitar and bass lines in some of the tunes. Overall a definite 5-star release and must have for any melodic rock fan.
The legend bear.......2005-03-15
I have not been able to listen to anything else. The album really shows us how talented Danny Vaughn is. The fist song Nothing at All is so well written, it is hard to go pass that song, but do proceed. Blessing In Disguise, and Is Anbody Watching Me are two of the most beautiful songs I have heard. Damm is another ballad that everyone could relate to. I loved Danny's voice in Tyketto and Wasted, but this album is outstanding. I don't think that anyone that purchases it could be diappointed.
Everything that a melodic rock album should be.......2004-12-19
The Good
Danny Vaughn sounds so much better now than he did in Tyketto. Not that too many people were listening to Tyketto anyway. Joking aside, the opening track "Nothing at All" is a strong melodic/AOR track with great structure and an enduring power bridge and chorus. Arena rock riffs and cool licks make "Suddenly" instantly memorable. Danny sings about being alone, and employs tuneful vocal harmonies that build to an emotional chorus.
A little Tyketto-like soloing can be heard on "Fight for Love". "Damn" is a stirring power ballad, while "Stop" is a high-powered keyboard/guitar assault. "Blessing in Disguise" is another catchy melodic rocker with driving guitars and electronic effects thrown in for good measure. Vaughn round out the album with the heartfelt, multi-tempoed ballad, "Beautiful Goodbye".
The Bad
Nothing
The Verdict
From the Inside is everything that a melodic rock album should be. Danny Vaughn shows that heavy metal wasn't really for him. AOR is clearly where he belongs.
Great Album!!.......2004-11-18
Once you get this CD in your player, you will leave it there for a while!!!
Every song on the album is good, Danny Vaughn has great vocal skills it will keep you hooked throughout the whole CD!
There is even a interview and a clip of Nothing at all on this cd!
For me this is the best melodic rock album of the year.
I heard the boys of Tyketto are thinking about making a new album!!! Maybe in 2005 who knows
