Album Description
A feverish blend of hardcore punk, indie rock, classic prog, and glam rock that refuses to relent. Kane Hodder are the antithesis to genre confining, tiring expectations about what punk/hardcore/indie music should sound like. These guys don't just blur lines, they make you question why lines ever needed to be assigned. They've been asked to play with the likes of Pretty Girls Make Graves, These Arms Are Snakes, Phantom Planet, Anatomy Of A Ghost, and Brandtson, and they've garnered the title of "next big thing" from such publications as The Stranger, Seattle Weekly, and the Tacoma News Tribune. Initial pressings include a bonus DVD featuring live performance footage.

The Pleasure to Remain So Heartless.......2005-06-17
This is an outstanding record. Not without its flaws, but it is an amazing release from an amazing band. As soon as you put this CD in, you will experience the gut-wrenching, indie/hardcore onslaught like a bullet to the stomach. A band that can incorporate fluid, experimental yet impressive guitarwork, hardcore-style drumming, and vocals that are some of the most diverse in the music scene today into one multi-genre bending sound deserve more recognition than Kane Hodder get. This is one of the few hardcore records that will have you dancing away, and feeling good about yourself. The vocalist/lyricist writes fantasticly and sometimes bitterly honest lyrics ranging from sex to sports casters to more sex and back again. The guitarists are great at what they do, in such a manner that they can write a flawless 21-second dual solo ("I Think Patrick Swayze is Sexy"), and they have created multiple instances of guitar mastery that will set you ablaze. The drums and bass continually flow in a constant motion throughout the record, and the bassist also shows listeners he has the ability to play along his blazing conterparts on guitar ("Heaven Help Me! I Love a Psychotic!").
This record is incredible, never ceasing to amaze and never letting up. Kane Hodder grab the listener by the senses and never let you go on this release, and it is nothing short of a masterpiece. To choose a stand-out track would be an understatement: this band has written a record that takes memorable to a whole new level.

The first time i listened to Kane Hodder ("I Think Patrick Swayze Is Sexy") I didn't like it, and thought the singing/screaming patterns were unlistenable...but it grew on me...and this CD is ver y good..i give it a 5 because the CD never gets dull....i can now listen to it straight through with no skips.
