5 out of 5 stars Perhaps my Favorite Emo CD..........2005-05-26

Ok, I admit it, this is only my favorite emoish CD because I really don't like any other bands of that genre. Really, my appreciation for that music begins and ends at Junction 18.

Maybe I like this CD because it was the first punkish CD that I ever heard when I was in eighth grade. It struck me like nothing else had before and immediately I was hooked to the catchy, overly-emotional lyrics and interesting guitar lines.

Not every song is great, some are in fact rather forgettable, but this album contains gems like Granite Street Knife Fight (probably my favorite song on the album), Lucky as Mars and Lost in Adeline. Each song is sang with a certain amount of passion (even though I typically find emo lyrics to be rather stilted) and the guitars provide some depth, unlike many other rather shallow punk bands.

Maybe, this is not the most original CD to ever come out, but damnit, the songs are really catchy and even memorable, which is far more than can be said about the vast majority of bands in that genre. It is almost a shame that the band released so little material.

4 out of 5 stars nothing new but very enjoyable.......2005-02-10

Siewart is right when he says that Junction 18 doesn't really do anything new...but most bands don't, if they did there would be no such thing a musical genres. But the fact is that they avoid the cheesy cliche sound I usually associate with "pop-punk" bands due to the fact they actually have some degree of musical talent and the singer can actually write decent lyrics. If youre a fan of the genre definitely check this out as its as good or better than any of the other bands.

2 out of 5 stars Another undifferentiated entry into the sea of pop-punk.......2004-09-09

There really isn't much new here. If you've heard a lot of pop-punk, and you like that sort of thing, you'll like this. But there isn't anything different in this than, say, yellowcard. Not original and therefore not worth buying, in my opinion.

5 out of 5 stars Easily the best "pop/punk emo" CD of all time........2003-03-23

That's right, not only is this the best I've ever heard, it is certainly the best ever. I'm not a huge fan of the genre, but I bought this for no particular reason at a store when I saw they were on Fearless, and I'm very glad that I did. Sweet Steps, June and the Ocean, Granite Street Knife Fight, Adrift, Lucky as Mars, and Lost in Adeline are the best, but of course all the songs are terrific. Above the Avenue is my least favorite, it sounds slightly too much like Blink 182 to me, but I still enjoy it. Anyway, there's nothing much else to say. Just buy it.

5 out of 5 stars Increadable, a must hear!.......2002-03-03

This was an increadable album, considering I didnt like Emo/pop punk stuff but I decided to download a song (Sweet Steps which is now on of my fav songs ever!) and I couldnt believe how good it was so i went out and bought the album the next day to find it filled with good songs from start to finish which is rare these days. If you ever get the chance to hear them do it there not just another pop punk band so instead of hearing the mainstram stuff go into this you wont regret it.

There siger has an amazing talent to write and is an excellent singer and their guitarist is very good and thats something most pop punk are missing.
