Christmas music,Merseybeat style!.......2005-12-21
Other reviews go into great detail about which Beatles songs were used as inspiration for the style of these Christmas songs.I'd simply like to say that these clever arrangements remind the listener of both the strong durability and flexibility of the songs themselves and the joy brought to us by the musical inventiveness of the Beatles. For those of us lucky enough to have grown up with their songs as the soundtrack to our lives, the riffs reproduced on this Cd remind us of a magical time that will probably never come again. That the passing of John and George makes this all bittersweet has much in common with many Christmas memories. So for those of you who received Beatles albums for Christmas in your youth and for those youths who have found their way down Abbey Road, here's a celebration of Christmas and the Beatles courtesy of Rubber Band.Have a cup of holiday cheer and don't forget to toast John and George as you listen.
Happy Xmas.......2004-12-01
This album is by a Scandanavian Beatles tribute band called Rubber Band (not to be confused with Bootsy's Rubber Band). It features Christmas songs done in the style of the Beatles. It is well done and a lot of fun. Beatles fans should get a kick out of it.
A Must for Beatles Collectors.......2004-11-28
Along with the infamous "Stars on 45 medley" and "The Rutles," this is most convincing set of Beatles impersonations you're likely to hear. The Rubber Band (whoever they are) provide a fun set of Christmas songs performed in the style of the Beatles. How convincing are their performances? These songs are sometimes mislabeled as actual Beatles outtakes on file-sharing services. That's how believable most of them are! As we move into late-period Beatles songs, however, the impersonation becomes less and less plausible. It's easy to imagine a "With the Beatles"-era "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" or "Feliz Navidad" but it's really stretching things to imagine "Silent Night" done in a Sgt. Pepper style.
If you're a Beatles' collector, you'll want this disc sitting on this shelf. Deduct a star if you're a more casual fan anc can't justify paying the higher import price.
Santa Beatles.......2004-07-01
So much fun that we can listen to Beatles music over Christmas, though they are not performed by the real Beatles, only a Beatles cover band.

Rubber Band are without doubt Scandinavia's No1 Beatles Tribute Band.
They are from Denmark, they started in 1979, when it was still considered blasphemous to copy The Beatles, and their music. Despite this opinion, that was held by most of the general public, Rubber Band continued to rehearse with dedication, until their first public performance as "Billerne". (They later changed their name to Rubber Band, inspired by The Beatles LP "Rubber Soul").
The reception was amazing - the so called critics suddenly became enthusiastic Rubber Band fans!
