Customer Reviews:

2 out of 5 stars With that many songs to choose from, should be better.......2003-05-13

This should have been one of the best albums of the year, but the song selection was rather poor. I was quite disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars The Greatest Show on Earth........2003-04-01

I thought after attending Bonnaroo that there would be no way to document this occasion without a huge CD set. However, they performed a miracle and this 2 CD set is great. I highly recommend it.

3 out of 5 stars very good but not great.......2003-01-02

this is one of those concert festival cds that would have been so much better live... some of the tracks live Les Claypool and Robert Randolph really rocked on but other like Bela Fleck and most of disc 2 could have been way better. the one really good thing this cd did is make me aware of the Bonnaroo Festival and who could be playing at it this year! you would be better of finding bootlegs of the show.

4 out of 5 stars -Sample some of the sweetest music around.......2002-11-18

What do you need to know about this compilation? I really shouldn't presume that I know. However, I can tell you what I enjoyed, and why I enjoyed it.
Widespread Panic with Dottie Peoples and the People's Choice Choir-Unbelievable energy,is this gospel music? Is it Southern Rock? Does it matter? Not really, it is simply music that is passionate, vibrant, and great for the soul. This may seem overly enthusiastic, or even maudlin, but I recommend that you listen to the song, and hear the magic for yourself.
Phil and Bobby:Tennessee Jed-apropos right? Fitting for the occasion, and it is obvious that the crowd appreciated the song. What is more, the band is great, and they have such a following for good reason.
Les Claypool's Frog Brigade:Lomotive Breath- The Frogs do Jethro Tull proud; a great cover, a sweet tip-o'-the-hat.
Robert Randolph & the Family Band with Luther Dickinson-Very impressive, such skill, such soul. If you have never seen this band, it is definitely worth your while, what an experience they offer to those fortunate enough to attend their shows.
Soulive-Talent, ability, skill, yes describe it as you will, they do what they do, and they do it well. So funky, so fresh, yet so reminiscent of the musical past. The music combines elements of Jazz past, present and future.
The John Butler Trio-Perhaps not many people know of this band, as they are from Australia, but you just might appreciate this band's blues, jazz, and rock mixture. Sweet slide guitar.
If your curiosity has been peeked in the slightest, get this album, it is musically diverse, and samples some really great music. Hip-Hop, Jazz, Funk, Soul, Bluegrass, Rock, Gospel, classify as you will, but in the end you will be satisfied.
