Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Followed the Waves now in USA, great !.......2004-05-08

What an rock'n'roll career Melissa Auf der Maur has had thus far. A former bassist in Hole
and The Smashing Pumpkins, front woman to a side project called Hand Of Doom - the amazing
Black Sabbath tribute band - and now a solo singer; The Canadian woman definitely has exceptional talent.

Followed the Waves is the first single to be released from her first class, self-titled debut
album "Auf der Maur".
This song features a little heavy/grunge style.
Her voice is definitely gorgeous !

Melissa Auf der Maur's transition from another band's bass player to solo singer/songwriter seemed to be remarkably succed. A strong praise can be lavished on a very talented and arousing musician.

Real A Lie is the second single to be released from her first class, self-titled debut
album "Auf der Maur".
This song features as intro a steady melancholic riff hold attention but the guitar work and drumming is standard stuff throughout the song.
Her voice seize the listen : she is such an intriguing vocalist.

You must have it !

5 out of 5 stars great single.......2004-05-02

at the beginning I was quite shocked. I didn't know rock could be such a spacious thing. Perhaps it's because we're listening to tons of bad material and once we get something awesome is almost a surprise! in this case, it's a wonderful surprise!

5 out of 5 stars Follow The Waves and join the adventure.......2004-05-02

The waves are choppy getting into the beginning, a storm is brewing but the brilliant new chapter into her career has officially begun..and what a beautiful way to begin!
Journey into her passion by way of her voice and the drums giving suspense to what comes next, who wouldn't want to Follow these Waves?!!

'Good News' is slower yet equally as melodic. A more feminine approach then its predecessor but still passionate.

This single on the whole is Good News for fellow music lovers and surely a vision into a successful solo career.
