Album Description
Originally issued on vinyl in 1980, Hands Of Time 1965-73 has never been out of print. This CD issue adds key tracks from the Jam It Up! collection of rarities & unreleased material, making it a powerful, comprehensive 24-track anthology essential to any serious collection of Australian rock music. Over more than seven turbulent years, the assertive, stylish & always credible Master's Apprentices gave Australian rock an edge of true quality. Their original recorded output (14 singles, 3 EPs & 5 LPs) provides a neat chronology of rock's growth during the era, tracing the path from raw white R&B, to psychedelia, to 'head' music, to free-form experimentation (some recorded at London's Abbey Road Studio). The cream of this output has been carefully culled & presented on this exceptional CD. Commencing with a molten, 1965 unreleased track 'Poor Boy', & closing with another unreleased track, the 1972
Customer Reviews:
Some good tracks........2000-08-05
The Masters Apprentices cd has some catchy tracks of different styles.Firstly, they started with some rough but very catchy tunes such as "hot gully wind" and "buried and dead".Then,as they improved the sound became cleaner. The best song on this cd is "It's Because I Love You" which is an underrated classic. It should have been a million seller, but in those days,Australian groups had a hard time getting overseas acceptance possibly because of inexperienced managers.
