Customer Reviews:
Good album, Great price.......2001-10-01
If you like Buffet, you'll like this album, but if you like some great country sounding tunes you may or may not have ever heard before, you might just love this album. These are definately not the hugely popular, overplayed Buffet classics, but they are some well written and performed songs that I really enjoy. Its nice to not know the words to every song on an album, isn't it? Plus, you'll still get some of the same laid back Buffet chords in almost every song, and you'll still find yourself in your own little laid back world, even if you're dreaming of the Appalachains instead of old, sunburnt fishermen living in the Keys. Try it out; its a darn good value, at least!
If you don't have Down to Earth and High Cumberland Jubilee.......2000-06-17
This album is the same as Down to Earth and High Cumberland Jubilee and was already previewed in the Before the Beach compilation
Classic Buffett.......2000-04-25
"There's Nothing Soft About Hard Times" Is what I would cosider a must for any true fan of Jimmy Buffett. But, before buying this album I would suggest that you listen to all of the sound clips of it that you can find, because this is not an average Buffett album. For example, it has more of a country/appalachian sound to it, not the carrabian style that almost all parrot heads have come to love. So remember, listen to all of the sound clips of it that you possibly can before buying, but I'm almost positive that you will enjoy it after purchasing.
Nothing new, but many oldies and goodies.......2000-03-15
If you already own Before the Beach, American Storyteller, or High Cumberland Jubilee and Down to Earth, you already own this CD. This album contains his very early work. If you want his overplayed songs that everyone knows, this CD is not for you (and you would be better off buying Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays), however this CD is great to add to your existing Buffett collection. A must for the die hard parrotheads.
