4 out of 5 stars Solid debut.......2006-06-26

I still have this Mytown album 6 years later. This Irish quartet proved that they had some solid singing vocals on here. Many numbers like Body Bumpin', Girl In Tears, the nice remake of Wham!'s Everything She Wants and others show they can be funky one minute and smooth the next. The standout here is I Like Your Style, which glides so smoothly for its 4:44 length! Most impressive is that the group wrote most of the songs, and they all sound good. Unfortunately, it came out when the Backstreet Boys' Millennium album cooled down and when NSYNC's No Strings Attached sold over 2 million its first week of release in 2000. So nobody bothered to pay attention to this Irish boy band--might have sold 50,000 copies or so in the US. But I took a chance with Mytown and they should have gotten the same kind of press as the big names. When historians remember 2000, they'll boast about rival groups NSYNC and Backstreet, whom I liked. But they need to make a mention of this solid pop album by Mytown, as producers like Teddy Riley, Jack Knight, Guy Roche and others created solid music for them.

4 out of 5 stars Sweet guys, sweet voices, sweet cd........2002-07-22

I really love these guys. I met them and they're total sweethearts and the cd rocks.
Come on Everybody- This is one of my favorites, its a little short but its got Teddy Riley from Blackstreet in it.
Body Bumpin'- This was the first single. Its a good dance track and the bridge is really awesome.
Lifetime Affair- This is gonna be my wedding song. It's one of the sweetest songs I've heard in my life. Its about getting married.
Party All Night- Love this one too. The guys sounds really great in it.
Now That I found You- Mushy love ballad.
Time Will Tell- This is one of my faves. I'm not too sure why, I just think its a cute song and I really like the end.
Love Sent Angel-Mushy Love song
Girl In Tears- This one is kinda sad.
I Like Your Style- This is my personal fave. It goes "I like, your smile, I like, your style." Just a great song.
Everything She Wants-This is a good one. It's a George Michael re-make. One of my faves from the cd.
This Is The Time- This one is naughty. I like it.
The Day- Sweet song that my fave member Danny wrote

3 out of 5 stars It's a nice try for a first album..........2002-03-02

If you enjoy hearing guy bands, then you can't help but compare them with other bands you've heard. I found their songs to be mediocre, but nothing spectacular. I felt Westlife and A1 to be better groups. Their music just hit the spot, but I couldn't get that from Mytown. It's a nice try for their first CD, but maybe the second will be better. Just my opinion here.

5 out of 5 stars An excellent CD from this vocal quartet.......2001-07-16

The four-man vocal group Mytown has done an excellent job on this self-titled CD. The material is a mix of tender ballads and fast-tempo pop/dance songs. These guys have real vocal talent, and the arrangements represent a good balance of solo parts and group harmonies.

There are a number of good touches on this CD, such as the spoken-word interlude on "Lifetime Affair." I was impressed by the group's remake of the George Michael/Wham! song "Everything She Wants." "Party All Night" is pure fun, and "Now That I Found You" is an excellent romantic ballad. The guys show an effective range of moods in their vocal performances: at times smooth, funky, vulnerable, or cocky. If you like the work of groups like N'Sync or the Backstreet Boys, try out Mytown.
