Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Nearly the equal of "ON" - Very good album.......2006-03-19

If you like "ON", you will find something to like here. John Ivan's guitar work takes more of a prominent position in the sound scape in several songs. Nice lead guitar work. Cliff's voice is strong and great. Interestingly enough - Cliff somehow managed to withhold John Ivan's name from the re-release of this album on CD.

5 out of 5 stars Live show made me a believer.......2005-06-23

Like others who have reviewed this album I and my close-knit group of rock-freak-friends were at first a little disappointed when we heard this sophomore set. I attributed it to "Boston-itis" meaning that, like Boston, they had used years of good songwriting ideas on their first album and had to start from scratch on their second. But weeks after the release of this album Off Broadway played a club in nearby Springfield IL. Some of my friends were underage and couldn't get in to see them. Those of us who saw them got to see these songs played side-by-side with the tunes from "On". There was a rawness to their sound that was not captured in the more mainstream production of "On", but was captured on "Quick Turns". My friends who attended the concert put both albums on equal footing while those who stayed at home revere "On" as sacred. I love both albums and I disagree with the reviewer who said there are only 2 good songs. In fact I think there are no bad songs and mostly good ones. These days how often can you say that about an album?

3 out of 5 stars Only a slight sophomore slump.......2005-02-27

This second album is obviously not the stunner their first one was, but still there's not a duff song on it. I disagree with the Nightranger comparison(slander!) This album's production is actually rawer than the first one, with more of an emphasis on rock rather than pop. It rates lower than the first one because it doesn't balance the two as well.

2 out of 5 stars Mediocre.......2003-10-06

A big step down from "On". In fact, there is only real two "good" songs on it. At its worst it sounds like Night Ranger or Billy Squier.
