Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Freedom 5.......2007-01-19

If you like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Kenny Wayne Shepherd's Ledbetter Heights, you'll like this CD featuring Corey Sterling on vocals. He also sang on Ledbetter Heights and sounds a lot like Stevie Ray.

3 out of 5 stars Heard it all before.......2006-12-01

I love Texan Blues Rock, but there comes a time when you say to yourself "Man! This is just watered down SRV stuff." OK, there is nothing at all wrong about the music, it's just that there is absolutely nothing new or inspiring on it. The vocals, most especially, bring SRV to mind. Take, for instance, the aftermath of SRV. Double Trouble are a great example. They went onto Arc Angels, Storyville and guesting on Vargas Blues Band, Jimmy D Lane etc as well as making an album of their own with special guests. With each release, the music was varied, and not straight out cliched Texan Blues (Most especially - Storyville). I would also like to point out that ex Robin Trower member,Bill Lordan, appears on drums.
If you like the music of SRV and Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and are looking for more music in that exact same style, go get this CD.

5 out of 5 stars One of my favorites - 5 stars!!.......2005-11-08

I love blues rock music...Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jonny Lang, Shannon Curfman, Gov't Mule, Buddaheads, etc. Out of all the blues rock CD's I own, this one continues to get the most play. From beginning to end, you get solid songs with catchy riffs and great vocals by COREY STERLING (who also sang on Kenny Wayne Shepherd's LEDBETTER HEIGHTS CD). The opening track, Blue Highway (Ophelia), will be stuck in your head for days after the first listen. CHRIS AARON is one hell of a guitarist with great songwriting ability. Do yourself a favor and pick up this CD immediately!! I guarantee you'll love it!

NOTE: They have 2 other CD's out that I would also highly recommend...GET OFF and BETTER THAN FICTION ("Better than Ficton" was released under the band name "THE AMERICAN STANDARD"). Check out the bands website to order the other 2 hard to find CD's

5 out of 5 stars Electric Blues fans- This is a must own, you won't regret it.......2004-10-31

Please read the other reviews because they are all true. This band is great! I listen to everything from Hard Rock to Blues. I purchased this on a chance just because Corey Sterling sang on it. I figured if it was half as good as Kenny Wayne Shepherd it would be worth it. Boy was I wrong, this is better than KWS. Every song is quality song writing and performed great. I can't stop singing in my head the song "Born with the Blues", just a great great blues song. Also check out Corey Sterling and Chris Aarons other cd "get off" also good. They also played together in a band called American Standard. Hope this helps.
