Customer Reviews:
nope , just not right.......2005-11-29
This didnt do it for me. Trite lyrics, banal music. Just an overall bore of an album. I want my money back , honestly. Learn to play your instruments steve! The musicanship is absolutely horrendous. Gets my lowest possible score, avoid this at all costs.
Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant.......2002-11-02
this has got to be one of the best contemporary christian albums this year. the song writing is brilliant and the whole album is just so moving. TOPS!
Since I've never heard them before..........2001-12-05
...This is an amazing album if you've never heard Steve before (like I didn't when I first heard this). But based on the first review of this album, it gets me interested in hearing their previous work.
Anyway, since this was the first time I ever heard Steve (and many others will come to know them this way as well), I was impressed from the start after hearing "My Ever My All". WHen I finally bought the album, I was taken aback by the groups' diverse sound. Whatever type of rock you're into, you'll get it here. Melodic to soft to upbeat to beatdown :) All combined into one fantastic major-label freshman release.
I look forward to hearing future Steve projects, and past works. Recommend this group to everyone!!!
Absolutely fantastic.......2001-10-19
This is grrreat stuff! Old favourites from the Limited Edition black EP are reworked, along with brand new scorchers. "My Ever My All" rocls with a huge bass riff. "M" is striaght from the beginning of a Bond film. "Smile" is a soft ballad that explodes into a passionate guitar solo. "I am Here" is beautiful- almost pretty. "Mellow" tips its hat to Radiohead, and is a real grower. Inside it are sampled lines from "Hope and Glory" the only song from the blakc EP that didn't make it this far.
A superb album from Bristol's best. Definately worth your pennies! Get this one- trust me!
Brilliant British Rock.......2001-10-15
This album is brilliant. The 'blips and bleeps' (Jason's review)are fantastic and the whole album has a much tidier sound than their concerts. I've heard Steve twice live and thought they were wonderful and this album brings out the best in them.
They have a very 'British' sound, so some of you Americans might find it a little 'different' but don't let that put you off. This album is rich and tastey. 'Majesty' is great and 'Falling down' even has a little James Bond-esque sample at the end. Also, 'Mellow' has a 'magic roundabout' riff though it which I think is rather clever.
