Prepare Yourself For ARRAYA!.......2003-09-12
If you want true, un-adulterated rock and roll then do not miss ARRAYA. ARRAYA's self-titled album comes together like a raging maelstrom of soaring bald eagles and blasting Titan Missiles. As if PINK FLOYD met TOOL, ARRAYA's harmonic mix of turmoil and order creates some of the most passionate and distinctly intellectual sounds I have ever heard. Their singer has an intense soulful sound and smooth vocal dynamism that reminds me of Chris Cornell and his impressive range and falsetto are reminiscent of Jeff Buckley. The sonic array of guitars is smooth and inspiring - not to heavy but enough to emote feelings of awe. With a bellowing resonance, stupendous speed, and water-tight machine gun-esque rolls, the drummer involuntarily amazes and leaves the listener craving more of his unmistakable prodigiousness. His hard hitting progressive beats and electric cymbal work seals the deal - ARRAYA coalesces on their album as one stupendous unit melting all the senses into one transcendental sense where music affects the nostrils like roses and the eyes like tropical sunsets. One can not help but be catapulted into a realm of intergalactic sensory perception where the mundane drool of reality withers away and talent reigns supreme. Just good music - and we music listeners could really use it right now. If you seek music worthy of a one-way trip on the Voyager Spacecraft then ARRAYA is your band!
