4 out of 5 stars every time.......2005-03-31

every time I listen to it Ilove it. dramatic, produced wonderfully, a step above the ex-bands , not a bad song. buy it, i promise

5 out of 5 stars Genius, Genius. GENIUS!!!!!!!!.......2004-12-17

The Most Amazing Album ever made from the most amazing band [RIP] other than At the Drive-In to ever Walk the earth. These guys put on one of the most amazingly emotional and heart felt shows I have ever seen. Stephen Pedersen broke a string and kept playing and singing, Never missing a lick, and I think it sounded even better with a broken string. Every thing this guy touches turns to GOLD. Now Criteria is my new favorite band. Mr. Pedersen did it again with En Garde. Genius....!!!! Linc, biggers rock mucho too!Made in 2000 and would be amazing if it came out in 2004, even 2010. Will stand the test of time. If you like At the Drive In,These arms are snakes, Cursive, You will absolutely love this album.

5 out of 5 stars amazing.......2001-04-21

all i can say is wow. i bought this album on a recommendation from a friend and they are amazing. they sound like a better version of the archers of loaf. check them out

5 out of 5 stars perfect beyond words.......2000-11-13

I bought this album on a whim, and it as yet to leave my CD player. "Adult Entertainment" is my favorite track, with its choppy guitar intro and shout-along chorus that ends with just three voices singing their respective parts. Singer/ Guitarist Stephen Pedersen sounds kind of like Cedric from At the Drive-in if Cedric sang more than screamed. His guitar work amazed throughout, never taking the cliched path or repeating himself. Lincoln Handcock's bass is simply stunning, mixed high the way it should be. Drummer Robert P. Biggers,Jr. is equally adept at his instrument, crafting textural landscapes and changing moods in time with the other instruments. The only dissapointment is "Ect.", an instrumental track that starts with a lot of promise. In all, I recommend this CD without hesitation. Its a solid piece of music from beginning to end.
