Customer Reviews:
Not that good.......2006-12-19
SILVER is far superior to this album. I had to go to the trouble of finding SILVER on e-bay then having it transfered to CD. (My old copy had no grooves left, I'd played it so much.) Like the other reviewer I am flummoxed as to why this album has been re-released and not SILVER. The songs fall way short on this one.
not silver.......2006-02-21
the reviewer who suggested that SILVER is a better album is right. I bought this LP in the 70's because I had the SILVER album and LOVED IT. I was disapointed in this release because it just is not as good as SILVER. It has some nice work on it, the production is execelent the playing and singing are great as well but the songwriting isn't there. I may have been the only person in North America to have bought this LP so why did they choose to release this on CD first when SILVER had far greater sales? Release SILVER and I'll buy no matter what the price is.
Folky, Psycho Rock - great.......2005-10-21
It doesn't get 5 stars because the follow-up album SILVERm gets five. But this LP has gorgeous vocals - very folky of the period, with strong songwriting.
Tranquility got harder and more cosmic on SILVER, which followed, and that would have probably launched them into stardom had Epic not have fumbled release of the LP when they toured with Yes. These guys blew audiences away, and then there was no album to follow, and when it came, well, kids in the 70s had ADD, too.
Find SILVER.
Finally ! Oyster Catcher on cd !.......2005-02-08
I cant believe this is finally out on cd. Its very ,very obscure and while the whole album is not all that great and sounds a bit dated on some tracks -it does have Oyster Catcher - the album is worth the price of this song - a very english folky/psych kinda thing with beautiful vocals. Its one of those songs that when you here it - you have to hear it again . Try Again and Lady of The Lake are also good. If you're familiar with Phil Keaggys Glass Harp , the vocals are very similar . Pick this up for Oyster Catcher - you'll like it.
