Six Stars.......2006-05-28
This CD is the best thing I've heard in quite a long time. I even got to see them before TESLA reunited. They had some other great songs like Psycho Insane, One-eyed, Left for Dead, etc... that we may never get to hear again. They were going to be on the next album which will probably never happen now that Tesla is back together. Don't get me wrong, I love Tesla, but I hate when great music is lost. Maybe Tesla could record the songs on their next album.
Anyway, if you like TESLA, you will love BAR 7.
Great stuff, Jeff Keith rocks.......2005-09-02
Jeff Keith and Tommy Skeoch from the rock band "Tesla" spent some time on a side-project named "Bar 7", and this album is the result. It sounds great -- every song has a nice groove. My favorites include "4 Leaf Clover", "No Show" and "Cellophane" but all songs are hit material.
Keith shows a lot of emotion on this album, and it shows. And it's almost like Skeoch is there to keep everything rocking hard. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this album and I'm sure it will be in my CD player for a long, long time.
I had a chance to meet these two recently at a recent Tesla gig (Aug. 12th, 2005). Keith is a lot like what you'd expect him to be from his lyrics: Down to earth and compassionate.
........Well............2003-04-15
I thought this recording was a little bit of a disappointment. It was too easy going I guess for me. Jeff Keith is my favorite rock singer although I think of him with Tesla and that's it. The song writing really reflected the divorce that he was going through at the time: sad and slow. Although, I can see where some would really love it because it is a new sound.
Nice interlude to TESLA'S return.......2001-08-29
First of all, if I ever get around to reviewing all of Tesla's albums in this format, I will give them all 5 stars. Tesla is one of the greatest and most underrated hard rock bands of all time! I can't call this quite as good as a Tesla album, but it is close enough to give the 5 stars. Jeff Keith's voice hasn't lost a thing! The modern edge to much of this album just makes it an even more interesting listen. "Freaked" gets the album off to a rocking start, and throughout the album there are a combination of rockers and "heartfelt" anthems or in a couple of cases ballads. Definitely a worthwhile purchase. Now, of course, Tesla is back together for real. Can't wait to buy their forthcoming live album. In the meantime, Bar 7 is one of the highest quality "side projects" I have ever heard.
