Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A Classic.......2001-07-16

This is an outstanding piece of work, lyrically and musically. I'm amazed this group hasn't made it big nationally. Singer/writer Bill Deasy is a lyrical genius. Dave Brown is great on guitar. Just about every song has something to offer. Some are classics (Simplify, I'd Believe in God for You, My Serenity, Another Man, Right Where You Want Me), some are catchy (When I Put The Record On, Complicated Me, The Heart of Everything), some are simply pretty (Beautiful Land), all are worth a listen. The CD is packaged well, too. This CD ranks up there with the best I've ever heard. I highly recommend giving it a listen.

4 out of 5 stars What a pleasant Surprize!.......2000-10-11

This CD was a recommendation from Amazon.com since I usually listen to similar stuff. I listened to a few clips and became intrigued. I ordered it and I wasnt dissapointed. These guys are good enough to be signed by a major label. There are several teriffic tracks on this C.D. and if you like Vertical Horizon, James Taylor, or Jackson Browne, you will really like The Gathering Field, Sure they are a little rough around the edges but with a little P.R. and expertise that a major label would bring, I believe they could make it big nationally.

5 out of 5 stars Another review on Reliance.......2000-06-28

This band is better than any of the similar national bands like Matchbox 20 or Goo Goo Dolls. The Record Labels should wake up to the sweet sound of this band. They're definitely worth it.

Yes, I am from Pittsburgh, but they are good

5 out of 5 stars What lyrics!.......2000-02-03

Yes, yes, I'm biased...Gathering Field is my hometown band. But listen to this album once, and you won't be able to stop. OK, so it's contradictory: "Complicated Me" seems odd coming a few songs after "Simplify". But "Right Where You Want Me", "I'd Believe in God For You" and especially "Another Man" are beautifully written songs. Go ahead...try it!
