Album Description

Japanese pressing adds one bonus track 'Automatic' and exclusive cover art. The Subways have quickly established themselves as one of Britain's most exciting new bands. Young For Eternity, the London-based trio's major label debut, produced by Lightning Seeds' Ian Broudie, roars with love and lust, fear and frustration, veering from rambunctious punk thrash to tender acoustic pop. Jump on board because The Subways are on the move. 2006.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars sounds of the underground.......2005-08-09

the best way i can describe this band to americans is that they're a better, more diverse version of the von bondies. they rock, really hard on some songs, but have a little more pop sensibility and folkiness attached on their songs. my personal favorites come back-to-back on this record: the obvious choice is "rock n roll queen", which is a straight rock jam meant for dirty bars and leather clad kids with cigarettes and whiskey sours. the next, "mary", is a song that sounds disjointed and awkward at first listen, but soon is realized to hold the best pop hook of the entire cd. the acoustic songs made me recall the vines' old efforts, as an ethereal vibe emanates over simple, yet perfect guitar melodies. my only complaint about the record is that the band overuses two chord song structures. the simplicity is both a blessing and a curse.
