5 out of 5 stars awesome!.......2001-12-12

this album is amazing! it seems as though no one besides virginia colloge kids have heard these guys, which is such a shame. the lyrics are clever, vocals smooth, and the intrumentals are so creative. if you like anything like bob marley or dave matthews this album is definitly worth it.

Fighting Gravity has hit the music scene in a big way with their first release on Mercury Records. "You And Everybody Else" appeals to every music lover out there, including you and everybody else. The amazing musical talent of these guys from Richmond, Virginia is definitely something to write home about. Never has any band ever put more music and energy into ten songs than these guys. This disc features some redone FG classics and new tunes that will make you fall out of your seat. I suggest standing while listening due to the need to jump and move around. Their sound has reggae, ska, and rock influences and incorporates each into every song. The best jams on this album are definitely the highly acoustic "Forgotten" and the horn-driven "Walk Into My Eyes." The music is powerful and lead singer, Schiavone McGee's vocals flow like a waterfall: smooth yet intense. It's fitting that McGee's vocals flow so well because with song titles like "Waterfall,"

"Lost In The Rain," and "Bend The Light" you can actually picture the motion of the music in each song. "Lost In The Rain" and "Bend The Light" are two classics revisited on this album and are definitely the best versions to date. By far, the songs with the best and most vocal influence are the "Wait For You" and "Turn To Me." These two songs alone will either cause you to move gracefully or fall deep into a musical trance. Fighting Gravity's grooving, jamming sounds are highly hypnotic and will leave you seeking more. They have 5 albums before this one that you must check out if this disc amazes you, and it will. These guys are exactly what the modern rock music scene needs to revive itself.

5 out of 5 stars awesome. simply awesome........2000-08-17

okay, a really good friend of mine was talking about how much he loved fighting gravity, and all i could think of was 'who the HECK is fighting gravity??'. he talked me into going to one of their concerts with him. i went, and i was completely won over. they are an awesome band.

well, i put off buying the cd, just because i figured i had enough cds. well, about two months ago, and decided, eh, what the heck, i'll buy it. i did. and i'm just as impressed as i was when i went to the concert, if not more. i haven't gotten tired of listening to them. they're almost as good as the pat mcgee band, who i'm absolutely crazy about (i recommend 'shine' too).

buy this cd. NOW. i may sound demanding, but its good advice. trust me.

Whether on a big label or independent release, Fighting Gravity never fails to entertain. I've seen them live three times now, and can't wait to do it again. It's only a matter of time before they hit it big.
