Customer Reviews:
vary gude.......2002-03-11
Clearly this album is made in the spirit of having loads of fun and not much else. At first you might get the feeling you're being ripped off by somebody who just plays random tunes ripped off from 60's garage rock that pop into their head, except that the music is actually quite good, and in fact better than anything the Presidents of The United States (Chris's former band) did. Trivial shmivial, it's a great album.
Party Music for my Lost Generation.......2002-02-23
.... Having people over? Well this is a great disc to sneak in the CD player during a gathering of friends. Spontaneous dancing and laughing will erupt about 2 minutes into the adventure.
I love it
This CD also works well in the car, tired of road rage; you will smile the whole time caring little what happens around you.
I love it
Running or walking with headphones on? I've found this CD works well as a universal soundtrack for the obsessively happy
Tired of we're so cool "serious musician" syndrome, this CD works well as the cure for pompous musician drudgery...
Personally, I love it
Kinda alot of pop but not........2001-12-30
From the fifties jazz beat of Shelby Jenkins and the idiosyncratic lyrics of Jilted On The Tarmac. To the tender sounding Sandra in Short Pants, and the melancholic Town and Country. This cd takes the listener on a journey through various musical terrains, evoking a variety of emotions along the way.
Often this CD utilizes the standard pop music formula, of catchy beats and repetitive lyrics, but does so in a way that is unlike standard pop music. In a way this CD resembles the music stylings of They Might Be Giants but with the twist that only the Presidents of the United States of America's frontman Chris Ballew could bring.
