A great find.......2005-01-25

This my friends is a very nice find in the alternative rock genre. Very smooth with little or no aftertaste. It especially hits home if you have a friend named Steve. I have had a few friends named Steve, but one from high school was the coolest. He was totally into weighlifting and would wear a t-shirt that said, "do not disturb, Steve is working on the pipes". After getting all huge, Steve got kicked off the football team for an undisclosed violation of team policy that had to do with gambling. He lost his drive to lift weights and the muscle all turned to fat. He then wore a t-shirt around school that said, "Yup, I'm fat now, but if you're a hot chick I would still totally date you.". The shirt was messed up because he was trying to say too much and the last three words were on the back. He went to a Tony Robbins seminar and got his drive back and started lifting again and had a new shirt that said, "It's now like Steve is on one of those extreme home makeover shows because he's restoring the pipes again so if you fine ladies would like to date me again I'm totally up for it." I think the print on the shirt was 6 pt. arial font. Anyway, Steve was one cool mo chucky and this band is well worth picking up.

To bad they only cut one album, the opening track makes this cd worth every penny, plus its listenable all the way through. I've had it for a few years now and it still gets into the rotation, you just cant get sick of it. Also a great cd for some background music, it always gets a "what is this, I want it" type respnse from someone.

Hard To Believe My Friend Steve!.......2002-03-18

My Friend Steve is exactly what is wrong with the music business. Most famous bands don't deliver as much good material in an entire career as My Friend Steve put on the one album Hope And Wait. Where is this band? Why are they nearly the least known band that ever lived? I don't even know how I got this. Someone left the CD at my house a few years ago. I listened to it once and ignored it. I didn't remember it at all. While cleaning up recently, I wanted to listen to it once more before I threw it away and used the jewel box for something else. I did listen to it a second time, and it blew me away! I've listened to it about 75 times this month, sometimes 3x in a row. There are no low spots on this. It is 100% good. I'd throw away 100 disks before this one. I have called a few people asking them if they gave it to me, but no one remembers it. What does this band sound like? Well, I try to avoid the lame trash that is widely distributed these days, but it may be similar to music made in the past ten years by Counting Crows (without ripping off Van Morrison!), Dishwalla (their album was pretty good, too bad they blew their brains out on one song!), and Third Eye Blind. Anyway, if you dig any of those, this one is better. Happy listening!

First of all tihs band is no longer!
so get this (the only Major label record) now!
It`s just amazing Mellow Alternative Rock which burns your heart down.
Steve is a very Talentet singer which has a voice which is one of the best voices that I`ve ever heard!
I guess his Voice makes the difference between this and many other Band`s!!!!
