If you like the song, check out the video........2006-01-21
Generally I'm not too into videos, as I feel they can distract from the true energy of a song, but the video for this track is really fantastic. It's just a frantic as the song itself.

truly awesome taste of things to come.......2005-04-28
This is the type of band I've been waiting a very long time for. I've listened to all of their available tracks, and haven't been disappointed at all. I can only sit and wait until the LP comes out. My impressions on the few songs that are here:
Apply Some Pressure: Awesome upbeat tune with a great intro/chorus hook that seems to blend the vocals with the band perfectly. Keeps you dancing throughout the whole song.
Coast Is Always Changing: Can seem very poppy at times, but just gets better and better as the song goes on until you get to the amazing chorus. The tune goes from light and delicate to rocking out to a sort of anthem of a chorus. A little more laid back than the previous track. "I am young, and I am lost. You react to my repost" might be the best line in a song ever.
Fear of Falling: Love the backing vocals! Otherwise, it's a great overall song with a head-bobbing verse and a cool little surf-rock interlude solo added in there. Fun song.
I Want You To Leave: Great guitar riff, but I feel that the song never really gets into a good groove. Still a good song, however it's definitely the weakest song of the bunch.
All I have to say is, pick up all the Maximo Park you can until the LP. It's great upbeat Brit rock that I can't get out of my CD player. Can't wait for the full-length!
The Best Band from Newcastle, Ever.......2005-04-19
The four songs on this single are four of the best you will hear this year (until the LP comes out). All of the songs change at least three times in their three minutes and no song ends up quite were it started. Maximo Park truly need to be heard to be believed. Theck them out.
Apply Some Pressure lets out steam with bursts of joy.......2005-04-07
Apply Some Pressure from Maximo Park jumps and bounces out of your speakers and into your memory like an agile cat. Each of the four cuts is a short shot of energy...no duds. Sparkling beats as relentlessly infectious as the Futureheads, frontrunner Paul Smith's voice dances across blazing guitars with fast changing tempos and melodious harmonies that make shameless joy back in style, tight songs reminiscent of an upbeat Elefant. Irresistible ska beats, sweet sly smart lyrics...and oh, who cares: listening to them in my car, I found myself bopping my head wildly and smiling at everyone as I went by! The title song is a flawless innocent seducer, the Coast is Always Changing and Fear of Falling witty lilting stories that jettison you into romance and relationship stories with so much verve and abandon, you will gladly forget who and where you are, and return to earth long enough to spin the cd just one more time.
