Critically, However, their Music was Bestowed with Fervent Praise Attracting Rave Reviews Both at Home and Abroad. 5 out of 5 stars What might have been.......2007-01-05

I discovered 1994 in Boston in 1978 when WBCN showcased then at a $1.04 per ticket concert. I was utterly blown away. Karen Lawrence was incandescent. I immediately bought this album and practically wore it out. The followup, Please Stand By is equally good. Interestingly, Please Stand By is one of the first albums to have been at least partially recorded digitally. I kept waiting for radio to pick up on 1994, but it never happened. That's a crying shame.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best AOR albums from the 70's!!.......2005-11-17

I couldn't agree more with the other reviewer, and I too have been waiting years and years for this to be releasesd on CD,and this group was much better than some people think, and Karen Lawrence is just a fantastic singer, and I've followed her since she was in the group the L.A. Jets. I also hope that they'll release their second and last album "Please Stand By" from 1979. It's a great album too, but this debut one is absolutely amazing, and I do remember several of the songs getting a lot of airplay, but 1994 never could never make it big like some groups, and it's a shame, because they had outstanding musicians, wonderful songs, and Karen Lawrence can belt them out with the best of them, and she's been one of my favorite female vocalists ever since I first heard her. For those who are fans of Karen, I recommend getting CD's of the group she was in several years back called Blue By Nature, which was excellent blues-rock, and Karen can definitely sing the blues and probably anything else! If you like great hard rock with amazing and powerful female vocals, you must hear this CD, it's a classic one, and in my opinion, one of the best albums that came out in 1978.
