4 out of 5 stars Harlemm you're great!.......2007-02-13

I just put this CD in my wish list. I agree with the other comments, especially about not knowing Harlemm having a CD. I watched Fame religiously every week when he was a contestant, because he was amazing. The only way I found this CD was, my husband asked, I wonder what ever happened to Harlemm Lee? So, whenever we're trying to find music, we search Amazon, and there it was. Maybe Harlemm should have gotten on American Idol. He could have definitely won. Then maybe he would have got some promotion. I hope things work out for him.

5 out of 5 stars Harlemm is Awesome and America still wants to hear him!.......2006-09-15

This is one of the best albums I have. The only thing I would like to say that was a disappointment to me about the album was that it didn't include Harlemm's version of Janet Jackson's "Control" that he performed on the show---I was really looking forward to that again. I am a 37 year old male with a wife and 4 children and we all enjoy this album. My wife and I are huge fans of Harlemms and we listen to this cd all the time. I wish I owned a radio station where I could play his music, because I would! All of America needs to hear his amazing voice and hear what we hear. I am not going to put down NBC, Johnny Wright, Debbie Allen, etc. for not doing or giving Harlemm what he deserves--they know they did wrong and will live with that for the rest of their lives. Anyway, it has taken me awhile to get here but I am here now. It's 2006 and where's Harlemm?? I am just glad that I have his cd here and it's not going anywhere. Let me talk about the songs now. "Blessed My Soul Again" is a gospel inspiring, leave you feeling good, please sing again song. "Get Here" is wonderful--it has been done by many artists and Harlemm's version is the best--I really like Justin Guarini's (from American Idol) version as well...both wonderful soulful songs. "Careless Whisper" Well, I wasn't sure about this one at first, because I really like George Michael's version and really didn't think anyone could touch it--but to my enjoyment, Harlemm did his thing and made it a great version! "Destiny" with Shannon Bex is a great duet....so if you liked Shannon you get to hear her on this one. "Let's Get Serious" I love this one! Great version! Jermaine Jackson should be proud! When I am listening to the album, this one gets me up and moving! "Jasmine Rain" Great, slow jam, it makes you just want to start grooving and a snap of your fingers is what happens next with this beautiful beautiful song. "Greatest Love Of All" What can I say? Everyone knows the original, but yes he's done it again---he has "Harlemmized" it to make it his own. "I Love You Love Me" My favorite on this cd! I really get moving and I love the vocals--well I love the vocals on all of them--I mean this one should have been all over the place! "Lean On Me" Another great song in his own style. The original was great and Club Neuvous version was great but low and behold he made it better. "When I Need You" another great cover...souful and wonderfully sang! "Tommorow" Who would have thought that a 38 year old man would be going aroung singing this? Well I do and I am proud of it! His version is just catchy and sounds great! On the whole--his album is a must have and if you don't have it--get it--you won't be disappointed. If you are--I will be surprised. Any record companies out there that may be reading this--get in touch with Harlemm Lee and make him your next headliner! You will be glad you did! Go Harlemm! I will be looking for his previous album when he went by Gerry Woo and I am sure I will love it and I can't wait until I hear more!

4 out of 5 stars Super talent, over-produced, again!.......2006-07-20

Harlemm Lee has amazing musical abilities and the one I think should qualify him as a star is his vocal arrangements; but alas, the music making machine has over-produced his tracks and condensed them into the uniform sound that musicland loves so much. If left to his own devices, Harlemm Lee could be a huge star. I'll keep buying any albums he puts out in the hope that one day his label will give him more input on the finished product.
