Customer Reviews:
Nothing Like This CD.......2006-08-12
This is one amazing CD. If you like good House/Chill Out music then I highly recommend this album. This CD has been around since the early 90's but I guarantee that you have never heard music this distinctive, melodious and seductive.
Buy this CD, its a great deal.
Good original sound.......2006-04-27
This duo, essentially, have a sound comparable to a mixture of the Pet Shop Boys, New Order, and a little Howard Jones thrown in. Almost every track great, only maybe a couple of fillers, like the first track. Great synth sounds, some I have not heard anywhere else. Pretty cool lyrics on most songs. "Rock to the rhythm of love" and 'Sweet Harmony' are my favorite but the other tracks are really just as good, other than a couple of fillers as mentioned. Still, I miss the contribution of the band's former guitarist who left before this album. Compare to the 'Happiness' album and you'll see what I mean. There was some cool guitar on some of those songs. Get this album if you're going to get any of them, you'll probably at least like 'Happiness' as well.
The Beloved's Conscience.......2005-07-01
For the Beloved's 1993 album, "Conscience," group frontman Jon Marsh parted ways with musical partner Steve Waddington, and taking Waddington's place was Jon Marsh's wife, Helena, who co-wrote all of the songs with Marsh, and co-produced the album as well (though she doesn't play or sing on it). With the aid of some session musicians & backing vocalists, "Conscience" finds the Beloved turning up the heat a few decibels---this is a very sultry, erotic synth-pop album that will surely get you and your significant other "in the mood," with Marsh's breathy lead vocals the perfect compliment to the music. My favorite tracks include the sexy "Sweet Harmony," the galactic atmospheres of "Outerspace Girl," Marsh tempting his lover with "Lose Yourself In Me," the graceful "You've Got Me Thinking," and the dreamscapes of "Celebrate Your Life" and "1000 Years From Today." Only the seven-minute track, the mostly-instrumental "Paradise Found," drags on a bit (if you know my reviews, you know I like long songs just fine, but "Paradise Found" could've used a little bit of editing, I think). But other than that, the Beloved's "Conscience" is, in a word, heavenly.
Very cool album.......2005-03-29
It's over 10 years old, but still a great album to listen too. Mellow, relaxing techno. Highly recommended!
