Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars You know, this is pretty good stuff . . ........2001-05-20

We don't like to pigeonhole bands by uncomfortably lodging them into the sometimes imaginary overlap between well-known artists, but let's face it- it helps the unfamiliar prospective buyer. If we have to do it to poor unsuspecting Juno, on this release, I'd have to say that Mogwai (and hence Slint) is definitely a reference, as is Jawbox. But thankfully, this album is much more than a heavily-amped indie rock all-star hybrid, and it builds nicely on the excellent THIS IS THE WAY IT GOES . . . A FUTURE LIVED IN PAST TENSE is a true epic of ebbing and flowing guitar, from hypnotic hymns to maelstroms and minefields of guitar. And the sound is simply breathtaking. The layed squalls of guitar take on the richest, deepest, crimson tones- it defies description. The songwriting isn't exactly classic, but the sound is so good that the compositions are extremely effective, regardless. The songwriting is by no means shabby, either. This one's a keeper.

5 out of 5 stars more than perfect.......2001-05-16

I've bought very few CD's since Juno's last release "This is the Way it Goes and Goes..." (and their split release). Reason being is there's too much crap released these days that my nine year old nephew could do a better job at. This music is intricate, stimulating, and very powerful. After listening to this CD you really see the blandness and subpar cookie cutter rock out there these days that is total senseless crap. These guys are awesome, creative musicians, and they use their three guitar assault very effectivly, not overbearing, just incredibly creative. Enough said, I give this album 6 stars.
