5 out of 5 stars Yo, smoke a joint and take a ride KMK style!.......2006-02-19

Joint Ventures is another very good release from the Kottonmouth Kings. The new KMK songs are impressive for the most part, especially In God We Trust and Radio Head. The new Kingspade, Daddy X, and One Session songs on there are great previews for what promises to be more great Sub Noize classics, especially One Session, which i personally think has the most potential out of the upcoming releases. As for the remixes, they`re pretty much hit or miss IMO. Best ones are FTH2(Let `Em Know remix) and Live Today(Revival Mix first heard on the Japanese version of Fire It Up). Joint Ventures, while not as good as KMK classics such as High Society and Rollin` Stoned, is a very good release, especially if you want to hear some fresh KMK and new Kingspade(New album out in summer of `06, Daddy X, and One Session(both dropping in January `06). So if you`re down for tha krown, then you`ll likely love it, but if you`re new to the scene, then you would have to listen to it a few times to get into it.

1 out of 5 stars wow.......2005-12-08

This album makes me cringe when I hear it. I just tried writing a review for this album and I had to stop because it's so bad, and that's coming from a huge Kottonmouth Kings fan. The only tolerable tracks are 'I'm Hungry', 'F.T.I.2 Remix', and 'Bad Habits Remix' which was already released almost 2 years ago on the import version of Fire It Up. I guess that would make it fit on this album since it is a rarity, but I've had the track for quite some time so it still dissapointed me.

The other remixes are horrible, and the solo tracks are in my opinion the worst on the entire cd. I enjoyed the Kingspade album, but these 2 tracks are just weak. One Session sounds like they have potential, but they don't seem too skilled as emcees and the beat is wack. As far as the new group tracks (first few songs), it seems like they took a step away from the club thing, but with little good results unfortunatly. I was happy to see Dog Boy's return, but I wasn't feeling the 2 songs he appeared on either.

It seems as though KMK is fading into mediocrity. They came correct with "No.7" after releasing the Kottonmouth Xperience (equally as horrible in a different way), but can they really do it again after this? Only time will tell. 10 years of partying as hard as they have been, it doesnt suprise me that they are starting to lose thier edge.

In closing, I love you KMK, but I'm not about to go pretend that I like this garbage. Unfortunatly, half thier fans are 'mall juggalos' (sorry guys but your lame) and will do exactly what I said I wont. I can only hope this record does horrible in sales and the kings will get a wake up call, and start putting out better music again. Scrapped material or no, this sh-t doesnt deserve to see the light of day.

peace

5 out of 5 stars KMK does it again!!!!.......2005-12-06

WOW! These guys have grown so much. I remember royal highness...which was good, but the production on their albums has just gone through the roof! All of these songs are good! I am always hesitant about buying albums that have alot of remixes on them but the new songs and the remixes are just as good as the original if not better! "Rip the night Away" has always been a great song but the remix is sick! Man do they know music! Anyways...pick this up...they just keep getting better and better!!!!
