Customer Reviews:
Is it just me?..........2005-05-01
This album has some straight up, right on, rock 'n roll boogie woogie...the kind you can't just sit still while listenin' - you gonna be tappin' that toe, saggin' them shoulders, & probly even wigglin' that booty too! ~8)
And hey - is it just me, or hasn't anyone else noticed the similarity to those great R&R icons, Little Feat? The REAL Dixie Chickens, before they crossed th' road! I found 'The Q' completely by accident - and smile that the Fates steered me this-a-way. So, climbin' on board - gonna ride with 'em awhile....time luvs a hero. *ribit* Shut...UP! ~8)

Fun Party Music/Classic NRBQ.......1999-12-01
As with all NRBQ albums, there are one or two throwaway songs. This one is no different. However, what is left is awesome.
Don't buy (just a bunch of outtakes).......1999-11-04
Maybe I'm just naive-I thought I was replacing my long-lost ancient crusted-over cassette that included Ridin' in my Car with a bright new release that also had some overlooked gems. Beware:this thing stinks. Then again, on the bright side, the new album is great!
An excellent representation of the depth and breadth of NRBQ.......1999-10-02
"Ridin' in My Car" is a re-issue of NRBQ's 1976 album, "All Hopped Up". But it's much more than that; with additional songs from that session, as well as new artwork to go along with the new title.
The title change was smart--named for the greatest pop tune that was never a hit, written by now departed guitar/songwriter/vocalist monster Al Anderson.
This album covers all of the Q's bases. There's the infectious pop of "Ridin" and "It Feels So Good". Pure rock n roll is represented with "Start It Over" and "Chickenhearted", both previously unreleased and capable of setting your speakers on fire. And no one swings like NRBQ, and this was back in 1976. All these newly rich, famous, and posing swing/jump bands could learn a thing or two from listening to "Honey Hush" and "Queen Talk".
